Back in the Game & Looking Ahead

Hey everyone,

What a couple of months it's been down here in Florida! My son and I have been immersed in the world of summer college baseball. It's been a journey with its ups and downs – a month ago, he faced an injury that sidelined him, but I'm thrilled to share that he's back on the field just in time for playoffs this week! We're cheering him on as we get ready to head back home to North Carolina.

Just like in baseball, life throws us curveballs, but with perseverance and the right support, we can still hit those home runs. This week's newsletter is packed with updates and insights to help you navigate your own unique journey.

Your Child's Winning Season

As my son gets back on the field for playoffs, it reminds me that every team needs a solid game plan and sometimes, a little extra coaching to truly shine. Just like in baseball, your child's educational journey can have its unexpected curveballs, complex plays, and crucial innings, especially when it comes to their IEP.

You don't have to navigate the special education league on your own. As an IEP coach, I'm here to help you develop your game strategy, understand the rulebook, and ensure you're making the right plays to advocate for your child's best interests. Let's work together to make sure your child has a winning season, every season.

If you're ready to step up to the plate with confidence, I invite you to set up a free 15-minute consultation with me. It's a no-pressure chat to see if IEP coaching is the right support for you.

Simply reply to this email, and we'll set up a time to chat!

Until next time,

How relaxation, adaptive tools, and simple 3-step recipes can turn kitchen hazards into lifelong confidence for your child this summer. Hi everyone, Summer always has a way of shifting our perspective, doesn't it? The routines that carry us through the school year loosen up just a bit, opening up quiet spaces in our weeks. It’s during these long, unhurried summer afternoons that we have a wonderful opportunity to slow down, take a deep breath, and try new things with our childrenβ€”things that...

Character over compliance: Lessons from a summer ballgame Hi everyone, Last week, I found myself sitting in the bleachers at a local summer league baseball game, expecting a relaxing night of sports. Instead, I got a front-row seat to a masterclass in how not to build young leaders. A visiting dugout completely dissolved into heavy profanity, rule-breaking, and personal attacks, while the officials simply stood by with passive, soft warnings. As I drove home that evening, I couldn't help but...

Surviving Summer Break Hi everyone, The arrival of summer break is traditionally celebrated as a season of ultimate freedom, but for parents raising children with disabilities, losing the highly predictable school routine can feel incredibly daunting. Without those daily classroom anchors, the sudden drop in structure frequently triggers a massive spike in home anxiety, behavioral meltdowns, and deep caregiver exhaustion. I have a confession to make. When my own children were younger, I...
